We’d like to apologize for the inconvenience as the download had been suspended in order to make sure the reliability of the firmware, more specifically in case of the use of some newly added functions in Ver.2.0 on Custom shooting mode.
Please download the newly released firmware, which has now become available as Ver.2.1.

For the users who have already updated LX3 to Ver.2.0
The camera which has been already updated to Ver.2.0, is also advised to update again to Ver.2.1

The download for the firmware update program to Ver.2.0 has been temporarily suspended, in order to make sure the reliability of the firmware, more specifically in case of the use of some newly added functions on Custom shooting mode. The download is expected to be available back again around the 20th Oct.

For the users who have already updated LX3 to Ver.2.0
The camera which has been already updated to Ver.2.0, can be used without any problem after the reset of the camera by selecting the [RESET] in Setup menu.
Please note that all settings except the clock setting will be reset to the initial settings. To keep the current settings, please make sure to write down the settings on a note in advance to reset the settings.

  1. Improved auto white balance performance.
  2. Auto Focus speed-up.
  3. Recording function with an aspect ratio of 1:1 has been added.
  4. A white balance (WB) bracket function has been added.
  5. [HIGH DYNAMIC] has been added to scene mode.
  6. [LENS RESUME] has been added to the [SETUP] menu.
  7. [MENU RESUME] has been added to the [SETUP] menu.
  8. The exposure compensation and the auto bracket compensation can now be set up to ±3EV.
  9. Position of the guide line can now be set.
  10. It is now possible to display the highlights in playback mode.
  11. It is now possible to record the user’s name in the picture.
  12. Digital red-eye removal has been modified.
  13. Items saved in the custom set have changed.

Panasonic also unveiled a new macro lens of world renowned Leica name LEICA DG MACRO-ELMARIT 45 mm / F2.8 ASPH. / MEGA O.I.S. (35 mm camera equivalent: 90 mm) for another member of the LUMIX G Micro System.
Awaited long from enthusiastic photographers worldwide, the new LEICA DG MACRO-ELMARIT 45 mm / F2.8 ASPH. / MEGA O.I.S. boasts a superb image quality with minimum distortion, chromatic aberrations as well as ghosts and flares that passes a stringent Leica standard to go beyond their expectations.
The new lens system uses both an aspherical lens and an ED lens in its fourteen lenses in ten groups to realize outstanding compactness, taking advantage of the Micro Four Thirds standard to achieve dramatic downsizing while minimizing distortion and chromatic aberration. Panasonic’s Mega O.I.S. Panasonic unveiled a new pancake interchangeable lens called the LUMIX G 20 mm / F1.7 ASPH. (35 mm camera equivalent: 40 mm) as a new member of the LUMIX G Micro System. The new LUMIX G 20 mm / F1.7 ASPH. features a dramatic compactness and light weight despite its F1.7 brightness allowing a beautiful soft focus for photos to be even more impressive.
Comprising of seven lenses in five groups, the new lens system uses two aspherical lenses most effectively to minimize both distortion and chromatic aberrations, achieving super high resolution corner to corner. The versatile 20 mm of focal distance (Equivalent to 40 mm on a 35 mm film camera) is suitable for wide variety of occasions from daily snapshots including sceneries like sunsets and dimly lit indoor shots to the deliberately creative shots taking advantage of its beautiful soft focus.
